Local Culture Maros and Pangkep Regency

My Experience Of Local Culture
In Maros and Pangkep Regency

Hello Everyone!!!
Let me introduce my self, my name is Sri Nindi Mahendra but my friend call me Nindi.
i'm student of Makassar  Tourism Polytechnic, majoring in Tour & Travel Business.
well on 2 days  me and my friend going to Maros and Pangkep Regency, so i will share my experiences on my first tour.

Day 1

on Thursday 24 October we gathered at the campus in front of the Orange Building at 07.00 in the morning to fill in the attendance and briefings, after that we left the campus and headed to Maros Regency at 08.05 am.

On the way to Maros regency we start guiding on the bus, accompanied by our lecturer ma'am Atri, our professional driver Mr. Lembang and our tour lider Miss Eni.
that day was my first experience being a tour guide on a bus, and to stand balanced on the bus is not as easy as my picture below, we must be good at balancing both when the bus goes through broken roads sudden brakes, passing corners and much more the type of road we take when becoming a tour guide.

on the bus i give information about Livelihoods in Maros regency

and then we arrived at Maros regency at 08.30 a.m and we also got off the bus to go to the tourist attraction which is Rammang-ramang. The route to that place is the river route and we use a boat to cross the wide river.when heading to the place we enjoy the beautiful natural scenary.

a few minutes later we arrived at Rammang-rammang. the area is said to be Rammang-rammang because in the morning there is a lot of fog in Bahasa is "Kabut" the Rammang-rammang are originally discovered by MAPALA and then exposed by Canadians and Australians.

at the Rammang-rammang

after arriving in Rammang-rammang the first place i visited was "Padang Ammarung", the place is said to be Padang Ammarung because at the place it is a source of springs in if the water falls it can a produce a noisy sound.

and the second place i visited was the "Diamond Cave" in Bahasa (Goa Berlian). The diamonds cave was found by Mr. Muslimin and has been explored for a 4 years, and why place said diamonds cave because in the cave there are grains of genuine diamond that have been examined twice. and in the cave there is a stone that resembles an elephant. to enter the cave we pay only 5000 rupiah.

and last place we visit is Kingkong cave, the place is said to be kingkong cave because when we get to the top of the cave there are stones that resembles kingkong and to enter there we only make donations.

after the place we returned to gather for lunch, after that prayer and coffe break and then we back to the campus.

Day 2

The second the we returned in front of the orange building at 06.30 am and then we breafing and prayed before going to Pangkep regency. after that we get on the bus and departed from campus at 07.30 am.

In the Pangkep regency we will visit 3 places namely : Pandai Besi, Pangkep traditional market and BATARI (Milkfish without thorns)

and we arrived at the Pandai Besi at 08.55. and then we get off the bus to the machetes or Pandai Besi.

Pandai Besi is a place for making machetes, where in that place made many kinds of machetes or knive namely Sodi machetes, mountain knive and the other. the first stage of making a mechetes and knive is by cutting the iron firs and then iron is burned and after that the machetes and knive are ready to be market. machtes making by Mr. Samsuddin he are old man blacksmith since fifth generation the making of machetes in the village of Tamampua,he usually makes machetes for costumers who order to be made.

and then after that we visit the traditional market in Pangkep regency,in the market i was looking for a seller of milk fish but i did not find the fish seller so i just bought cookies or in my area commonly called "Baroncong" and enjoy the cold pop ice drink together with my friends,in tha market there are many traders for one example like the picture below.

after that we returned to gather at 11.30 and then for those who pray Friday take the bus 4 to go to the mosque and buses 1 , 2 and 3 we going to Sinar 88 eatery for lunch. and bus 4 follows for lunch.

after lunch we went to BATARI, this is the last place
extracting a thorn starts from moving the thorn in the abdomen, and then behind the outer skin, lateral lines spines thorns in the abdomen and thorns in the baek . it's not easy to pull out the thorns. tweseze, scissor and special knives, the tools used to pull out the spikes, in that place make 200 tails a day and if there is an event make 500 tails, the name of the business owner is Mis Ratna Mentari.

after that we went back to campus at 15.45 and arrived at campus at the time 18.30,when we arrived at campus we had dinner in front of the orange building and then we back to home.
well that was my first tour experience, and thank you for reading my blog, see you in next blog :)
